In honor of the Christmas season, I want to tell you a story about a Mercy Ships Santa – a little, three-year-old girl named Santa.  She lives in Madagascar and experienced a terrible tragedy.

Army Sergeant Matt Wilder was in his fourth tour of duty in Iraq, with only six months left.  So, it was unlikely he’d be home for Christmas.  One of his two daughters said she wished he could be wrapped up and mailed home.

Marta Chase served as a volunteer nurse onboard our hospital ship.  Listen as she compares the experience of Elsie, her niece in the U.S., with Francina, a baby in Madagascar.  Both were born with cleft lips.
