On Friday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael continued their discussion about the Atlanta Braves lineup that they have had over the last few days, specifically who would bat in the cleanup spot if Freddie Freeman hit in the two spot, behind Ronald Acuna.

“If you look at what d’Arnaud (Travis d’Arnaud) did last year, his power numbers were better but Ozzie’s (Ozzie Albies) power numbers were really good when he came back from injury,” said Andy.

“On what side of the plate Andy,” asked Randy.

“I know Ozzie’s not as good of a hitter when he is batting left-handed, at least from an average standpoint, as he is when he is batting right-handed but his power numbers are pretty good from both sides,” Andy answered.

“When I look at these guys’ (Braves hitters) numbers the first thing that comes up in certain spots is well he strikes out too much…Ozzie does not strike out anymore than d’Arnaud does and they all strike out a lot. Outside of Freddie Freeman all of these guys strike out a ton,” Andy added.

“In an ideal world he (Austin Riley) is the power bat you would want in that spot (cleanup) but I’d put Ozzie there, I’d bat Ozzie fourth, give it a shot, I like Ozzie as the cleanup hitter,” Andy continued.

On Thursday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves reporter, Joe Patrick, who was asked about who he thinks will hit second in the Braves lineup this year.

“I think it’s going to be between Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies. Both of those guys have a track record, have shown that they have been productive in that two-hole before…We are looking at two players that are really on the rise in their careers. Ozzie Albies, I know he had kind of a quiet year last year but that was largely due to injuries. When he came back from that wrist injury that he was suffering from, he really was hitting the ball well,” said Patrick when asked about who he thinks will hit second for the Braves this season.

“And Dansby Swanson just seems to continue improving. It seems like over the last few years it’s been really solid incremental improvements from Dansby Swanson at the plate and I think that you know that those two guys, either one that you have batting two, it’s such a great luxury to have the other one bat 6th or 7th down in the order,” Patrick added.

Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by Georgia Bulldogs insider for DawgNation, Brandon Adams, who talked about some of the Georgia prospects for the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

“Frankly, I think Georgia needs more. Go back and look back at Clemson in 2018 who won the National Championship following draft they had three guys taken in the first round I believe and four guys taken in the top forty. 2019 National Championship was LSU that following draft, they had four guys taken in the first round. I think there is chance that Bama (Alabama) this year might have five guys taken in the first round,” Brandon replied when asked about the amount of Georgia football players taken in the first round in the NFL draft in recent years.

“So it’s good for Georgia to have a first rounder (Azeez Ojulari), it’s good that it’s a front seven defender. That’s not really an area in which Georgia has had, other than Roquan (Roquan Smith) a lot of first round success in recent years. But really for Georgia to be like the top flight group of college football that’s the next frontier. You got to be having multiple – three, four, and maybe even five – first round picks if you really want to keep pace with the very best programs,” Brandon added.

“That’s what the Alabama’s of the world are doing from both the recruiting perception standpoint but also just maximizing the talent you have on your roster. That’s a pretty good measuring stick of how well you are doing,” Brandon continued.
