I released a video today called, "New Directions", where I discuss the upcoming changes to the Mighty Philbert channel and why I'm leaving the YouTube Atheist community. Tonight, I want to discuss that in a little more detail and give you a chance to voice any questions, comments, or snide remarks you may have concerning my decision. This will be the last livestream under the name, "The Mighty Philbert", and I hope you'll stop by to say hi.

For the last couple of years this channel explored religion, skepticism, counter-apologetics, Gen X culture, trucking stories, and the strange circus we call internet life. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was spending more time talking about outrage than the things I actually love.
This video explains why I’m stepping away from the YouTube atheist community, why recent events forced me to reevaluate where I belong, and why I’m rebranding the channel into something more honest, creative, and human.
Moving forward, this channel will become:
🚛 Gen X Trucking with the Mighty Philbert
We’ll be focusing on:
Gen X memories & nostalgia
Trucking culture & industry commentary
Stories from the road
Roadside America
Humor, sarcasm, and observational commentary
Music, movies, and the weirdness of growing up Gen X
Modern life through the eyes of a truck driver who still remembers paper maps and cassette tapes
This isn’t about bitterness.
It’s about choosing a healthier direction creatively and personally.
If you’ve been here for the journey so far:
thank you.
And if you want to ride shotgun into this next chapter...
Welcome aboard.

Tonight, I'm doing a response to a few sections from a video from The Rabyd Atheist's channel called, " The Difference Between Claims, Evidence, and Verdicts (Because Some People Need a Refresher)".

Tonight on The Mighty Philbert, we’re holding a funeral.
Not for atheism.
Not for skepticism.
But for the online atheist YouTube community that once claimed to stand for reason, accountability, and questioning authority… until too many people decided protecting tribes and personalities mattered more than protecting people.
Tonight’s livestream will cover:
• The fallout surrounding the 2025 Nanocon controversy
• The accusations made by Nancy from Apostate Sisters against Secular Rarity
• Victim blaming and online tribalism
• Why so many creators and viewers are walking away from these communities
• The long history of fractures inside atheist YouTube — from Elevatorgate to the Rationality Rules / ACA implosion
• How movements that preach skepticism can slowly become dogmatic themselves
This stream is NOT about partisan politics or internet faction wars.
It’s about accountability.
It’s about consistency.
And it’s about what happens when communities become so obsessed with defending their own side that empathy and skepticism get sacrificed in the process.
At some point, “question everything” became:
“Question everything… except our friends.”
And people noticed.
Tonight we’re talking about the cost of that hypocrisy.
Bring your thoughts, your experiences, and your skepticism.
⚠️ Topics discussed tonight may include assault allegations, victim blaming, harassment, online abuse, and toxic community behavior.

In Episode 2 of this series, we break down how victim blaming actually works—and why it’s often disguised as “logic,” “neutrality,” or “just asking questions.”
From impossible standards to online tribalism, this episode explores the psychology behind why communities often protect themselves instead of supporting vulnerable people.
⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses abuse, assault, and victim blaming.

This episode tackles one of the most misunderstood questions surrounding abuse and assault:
“Why didn’t they speak up?”
The answer isn’t simple—and it’s not comfortable.
In this first episode of a new series, we explore the real reasons victims stay silent: fear, shame, loss of community, retaliation, and the emotional cost of being heard… or ignored.
This isn’t about one story.
It’s about a pattern.
⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses abuse and assault.

In tonight's livestream, I'm going to be talking with Dr. Jay Bundy from the YouTube channel, Pocketlocker 86, Patti from the channel, The Apostate Sister, and Kyle_Ayo stop by to talk about the current state of the atheist YouTube community. A lot of things are going on right now, and we need to talk about it!

Gen X didn’t grow up on life lessons…
we grew up on movies that quietly showed us the truth.
In this episode of The Mighty Philbert, we kick off a new series exploring the movies that shaped Gen X—not just the ones we loved, but the ones that taught us something… whether we were ready or not.
From Fast Times at Ridgemont High showing us adulthood starts early…
to Stand by Me reminding us childhood doesn’t last…
to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial quietly teaching us not to trust the system…
These weren’t just movies.
They were survival guides.

In this video, I just wanted to talk about why I posted the video called, "When Communities Fail". I also hope to make amends with some people.

In this video, I’m responding to a public statement made by Nancy, read by her sister Patty of the Apostate Sisters channel. In that statement, Nancy shares her account of an alleged assault that took place at NaNoCon 2025, along with what she says happened in the aftermath.
I am not here to speculate, investigate, or present new evidence.
I am here to listen… and to take seriously what was shared.
This video includes excerpts from Nancy’s own words and focuses on a larger issue: how communities respond when someone comes forward with a serious allegation.
The events discussed in this video are based on Nancy’s publicly released statement. Which you can find here:
• Why Nancy is No Longer on Apostate Sisters...
I encourage anyone watching to listen to that statement in full before forming conclusions.
This is not about harassment, retaliation, or mob behavior.
It is about:
Accountability
Community responsibility
And whether people can speak up without being dismissed or attacked
🧠 Why This Matters
Many of us have seen situations—across different communities—where:
Allegations are minimized
Victims are questioned or discredited
And reputations are protected at the expense of truth
This video asks a simple but uncomfortable question:
What do we do when it happens in our own spaces?
🚫 Important
Do not use this video as a reason to harass, threaten, or target anyone.
Comments that include:
Personal attacks
Victim blaming
Defamation
Or reckless accusations
will be removed.
Engage responsibly.

🔚
This is about more than one story.
It’s about whether we’re willing to listen…
when it’s uncomfortable.
