The Recent Oscars scandal has been a hot topic of late.
Rather than condemning the actions of Will Smith or Chris Rock, is it possible to instead learn from them?
I believe so.
Witnessing events like this happen to people we may respect, admire or place on a pedestal offer great opportunity for self-inspection, reflection and most definitely love.
Let’s turn the gossip into growth
Enjoy!
MindbodyMonday: Trauma Release and Empathy
With ‘Levi Walz’
When I first noticed the link between my clients self criticism levels and stress response everything changed. Not just professionally, but personally too.
I went from a therapist who treated the immune system with immune tools/herbs/supplement, or the digestive system with digestive tools/herbs/supplement to a practitioner who looked for the underlying mental emotional and physical stressors in my clients lives.
IMO, It’s the continual, compounded self-criticisms, put downs, worries, complaints, indignations, that are the biggest creators of long term stress and illness in our lives.
Being able to re-frame our perspectives, open up space for new understanding, and being able to appreciate ourselves for the actions, inactions or traits we disown about our past is truly transformational.
The practice of Self-love and appreciation isn’t just a fluffy, affirmation based positivity cloud. It’s a deep, committed, uncomfortable practice of leaning into everything about ourselves we disown and finding appreciation and understanding.
I call it the counter-intuitive key to self growth and mastery. And eventually it helps us grow from a place of pleasure instead of pain.
Today we’re talking anxiety and fear with one of, if not my fav Aussie motivation coaches. The amazing Katie Dean
Katie has many superpowers herself, but one that always sticks out in my memory is her ability to make every single person that’s in her vicinity feel seen, heard and appreciated.
As somebody with an intimate connection of the crippling potential Anxiety can hold over its sufferers, Katie offers a unique and empowering position.
Anxiety can be a superpower.
No… Anxiety is a superpower.
