As we've explored, the open awareness practice can give us the gift of being aware. Aware of things like our thoughts, and emotions, what's happening in our work, but without getting stuck or hung up on them, as we may usually do.

This meditation will allow you to pause and develop self-awareness and clarity.
Sit comfortably, find a stable position you can maintain for a while. Close your eyes or leave them open and just lower your gaze.
And remember, thoughts are not the enemy here. One of the realities of meditation is that when we practise consistently it starts to bring up some deep awareness. These aren't always easy to face and can be challenging, but they don't have to stop you from practising. I really encourage you to have a place of support if you need it. Usually when we walk, we are going somewhere, and we do it in an automatic way. Here we are not going anywhere. The goal is to experience your feet making contact with the earth with each step that you take and noticing the sensations in your body. Mindful walking can be just as profound as a sitting meditation practice.

10 minutes of simple stretches to provide a direct way for body awareness.
Remembering that it's very important to be gentle with yourself as you do these stretches, so looking after yourself during the movement.
Let your body decide what's OK for you, how far to go with any stretch and for how long to hold it, in particular if you've got a physical problem with your back or any other part of the body then do consult your physician or physiotherapist before embarking on even these simple stretches.
