The true Watergate Story involves a mob-run call girl operation that led to the break-in and downfall of President Richard Nixon. Many of the book's most important revelations are, in fact, based on Stanford's recent discovery of Heidi's little black book. Though it's a fully sourced political non-fiction, it sounds like a detective novel, full of prostitutes, mobsters, and political operatives. This is not part of the Watergate story that has come down to us over the decades.
