What's the TALKING Stage????
The "talking" stage in relationships, as many people know, is the stage at the beginning of the relationship where you are getting to know the person you are potentially going to date. At this point, you're basically doing a test run of the relationship to see if it will work out.
Comparable to courting of another time, the "talking" stage may hold different meanings for people. Talking is the period of texting, development of feelings, and hanging out with another person before officially dating. The description of this stage is why many adults argue that it is the parallel of dating.
What are the 5 love languages?
According to author Gary Chapman, there are five love languages. Our "love language" describes how we receive love from others. They are:
Words of Affirmation - Saying supportive things to your partner
Acts of Service - Doing helpful things for your partner
Receiving Gifts - Giving your partner gifts that tell them you were thinking about them
Quality Time - Spending meaningful time with your partner
Physical Touch - Being close to and caressed by your partner
Each of us differs in the ways that we receive love. By learning to give love in the ways that our partner can best receive it, and by asking our partner to give us love in the ways that we can receive it, we can create stronger relationships.
What is a 80/20 relationship, and does it work?
For long-term relationships, where compromise can sometimes be difficult, the 80/20 rule aims to eliminate any feelings of resentment by offering space and some much-needed time apart. A '20%' period is all about self-reliance which can either mean abstaining from sexual interaction with a partner or choosing to enjoy the company of others.
