In this episode, I speak with Carmen Grover, author of "A Diary to My Babies: Journeying Through Pregnancy Loss." Carmen has had recurrent pregnancy loss, including a termination for medical reasons. To support herself through her losses, she began journaling. After reflecting on her journals, she published them into a beautiful book. In our conversation, we speak about the heavy decisions mothers often have to make with medical concerns. We also reflect on pregnancy after loss, and journaling experiences and exercises that could help you with your own pregnancy loss.

In this episode, I speak with Roman Prokopchuk. Roman is a fellow podcaster, and he and his wife have experienced multiple pregnancy losses. Roman speaks to his experience as the non-pregnant partner regarding his own feelings of grief and loss, as well as supporting his partner through her journey. He also speaks about the financial impact infertility can have. Roman and his wife are currently foster parents, and have fostered dozens of children over the last several years! He and I speak about fostering, not as a replacement for the biological children you haven’t had, but as a separate journey into parenthood that is independent from fertility. In this episode, I speak with Helena Vissing, Psy.D. Helena has developed Somatic Maternal Healing, a therapeutic framework and model to support people experiencing pregnancy loss, perinatal mood disorders, and postpartum concerns. Her upcoming book, to be released next year, will be a crucial guide for clinicians working with individuals experiencing pregnancy loss. It involves us reconnecting with our bodies, finding delight in our sensory experiences, and supporting our healing trauma. In this episode, we talk about how psychotherapy can support you in your pregnancy loss journey, and how to focus on somatic therapy work to help through trauma.

This week on the podcast, I speak with Eric and Danielle, a couple who experienced two pregnancy losses after their first child. Their doctors suggested they wait for a third pregnancy loss before investigating why they had a loss. Instead, they moved forward with testing, and found that Danielle had the MTHFR gene. Eric and Danielle were able to implement medical interventions and had a healthy baby! Their story is a beautiful one, and I was so happy to speak with them. They also address how to respond to loss and grief, and share a poem they wrote for their children after the losses.
In this episode, I speak with Carole Nimaroff, a committed volunteer with the Pregnancy Loss Support Group (PLSP). Carole and her husband, a practicing OB/GYN, are among the earliest members from more than 30 years ago, of PLSP. sponsored by the National Counsel of Jewish Women. Carole is a loss mom, an attorney, and a mother of four grown children. Carole runs monthly support groups for people who have suffered first trimester losses. Carole credits her support group for giving her the strength to endure their personal, long, and painful journey. Having experienced multiple first trimester pregnancy losses, Carole understands the feelings of deep grief, fear, and hopelessness. Her personal philosophy is "take control of the uncontrollable." Carole is not only deeply compassionate, she is a beacon of strength, endurance, and hope. Carole often says, "if my mere existence inspires others, then it was all work it."
