If someone were to ask me, "what is the MOST debated part of the book of Revelation?", I would be very tempted to say Revelation 12-14.

Why Revelation 12-14? Because it is here that we see dragons, sea-beasts, earth-beasts, pregnant women clothed with celestial bodies, and probably the MOST debated part of all: the dreaded Mark of the Beast.

In this episode of our Revelation series, we are tackling ALL of it! Who or what is the Sea-Beast? What's the deal with the Dragon and the woman? And above all, what is the mark of the beast, and do we have to be worried about taking it?

There are parts of Revelation that are pretty straightforward. There are other parts that are hotly debated. Our passage for this week is one of the latter!

At youth group last week, we tackled what is colloquially called "The Two Witnesses". They are given authority to breathe fire from their mouths to consume their foes, as well as shut up the sky and turn water into blood. Many people believe that Revelation is foretelling two literal witnesses who will appear and do these things. But could it be that something else is going on in this passage?

Last week, in our first episode on spiritual warfare, we addressed two very important points: 1.) there is a pantheon of spiritual beings, and 2.) God created them to rule with Him in the heavenly places.

Of course, "warfare" implies that not all spiritual beings are friendly. There has to be an enemy if there is to be warfare. In our second part of our sub-series on spiritual warfare, we talk about the Biblical evidence that supports the fact that there are rebellious spiritual beings out there who are opposed to the will of God, and we outline this but unpacking three scenes of spiritual Rebellion, all of which can be found in the first 11 chapters of Genesis :)
