Thirty-three days after the birth of Jesus, Mary and Joseph encounter Simeon—a man promised by God that he would see the Messiah before he died. As Simeon holds the baby in his arms, he announces that Jesus is indeed the Savior. However, he then turns to Mary and provides puzzling and concerning news.
