I thought for this episode, that I’d slide away from the mundane a little. What about the big picture?

While I’ve been hauling buckets of water, spronging silage, making bottles and pulling lambs, I’ve had rather a lot of time to think... it has raised a few questions.

What am I doing here, day after day, on my farm? What’s it all about? It all boils down to the most simple of things… life and death and you'd better believe there's both during the lambing season!

In this episode, we're in the middle of lambing season, so it's all about pregnant sheep!

If you've never been in a lambing shed, I'll give you a really good idea of what we're doing as our girls start to have their lambs, and all the steps we take to ensure those new babies are brought into the world safely and healthily.

Spring is a time of growth and renewal: nature is starting to wake up and the days are getting longer. On our farm here in the Garden of Ireland, it also heralds the upcoming lambing season.
