On this week’s episode of The MMA Report Podcast, Jason Floyd and Daniel Galvan preview Saturday’s UFC 236. Plus, Jason has interviews with Greg Rebello and John Castaneda.

The guys kick off this week’s podcast by giving their thoughts about WrestleMania and discuss whether or not the UFC could put on this kind of event. Then they get into Saturday’s UFC 236 as they preview the fight card.

Up next is the interview portion of the podcast as Jason chats with Greg Rebello and John Castaneda. Up first is Rebello, who’s one of the coaches of bantamweight Randy Costa, who makes his UFC debut on Saturday. He talks about Costa’s matchup against Brandon Davis and talks about knowing Andre Soukhamthath when he was a teenager.

Then Castaneda comes on the show to preview his fight on Friday at Combate 34 and explains how he’s started working with a strength and conditioning coach to prepare for his fight. Following the interviews, Daniel rejoins Jason to discuss multiple news items including T.J. Dillashaw being suspended two years by USADA and former UFC champion Tito Ortiz telling TMZ he plans to fight in October.

On this week’s episode of The MMA Report Podcast, Jason Floyd has four fighter interviews as he chats with Eryk Anders, Andre Soukhamthath, Montel Jackson and Jennifer Waters.

Before those interviews, Jason and Daniel Galvan discuss what happened last weekend at UFC on ESPN 2, Bellator 219 and ONE Championship 92. Some of the topics they touch on from those three events include Justin Gaethje being must-watch television, return of Daniel Straus and Eddie Alvarez losing his ONE Championship debut.

Jason Floyd and Daniel Galvan kick off this week’s episode of The MMA Report Podcast by discussing an article posted by the New York Times this week about former UFC champion Conor McGregor being investigated in Ireland over a sexual assault allegation.

This article came out twelve hours after McGregor announced his “retirement” on social media and listen to Jason and Daniel discuss their major takeaways about the New York Times article and McGregor announcing his retirement.

Up next on this week’s podcast is the interview portion of the show as Jason speaks with four fighters that will be fighting this weekend. Up first is Alex Perez (24:46), who will be facing Mark De La Rosa at UFC Philadelphia. Up next is Saad Awad (32:57) and he previews his matchup against Brandon Girtz in the main event of Bellator 219. Then David Rickels (43:44) joins the show to discuss his matchup at Bellator 219 against A.J. Matthews and in the final interview, Shawn Bunch (55:28) previews his fight against Dominic Mazzotta at Bellator 219.

On this episode of The MMA Report Podcast, Jason Floyd and Daniel Galvan discuss the UFC announcing earlier this week that makes ESPN+ the exclusive provider for UFC pay-per-views in the United States.

Their conversation opens with them discussing how this deal shows that the sport of mixed martial arts is going all-in on digitial streaming and Jason offers up his expertise on how the commercial pay-per-view process works. Plus, they discuss the price point and ponder this question: How does this benefit the fighters?

The next topic of conversation is T.J. Dillashaw. On Wednesday morning, Dillashaw revealed that USADA and the New York State Athletic Commission have found adverse findings in a drug test. Due to this, Dillashaw has informed the UFC that he is relinquishing his bantamweight title.

After they give their thoughts on that story, it’s time for the interview portion of the show as you will hear Jason’s recent conversations with Emmanuel Sanchez, Linton Vassell, Chris Gutierrez and Matt Bessette. Former UFC champion Conor McGregor was arrested earlier this week in Miami and at the beginning of this week’s podcast, Jason Floyd and Daniel Galvan discuss how they found out about McGregor’s arrest and what their initial thoughts were about the story.
