Has it occurred to anyone else that the cases of COVID 19 have begun to hit closer to home lately? With more people anxious to get back to life BC (before Covid) it seems that taking our collective get off the gas, in a rush to have the days we all remember, has lead to more cases due to carelessness. Add in the videos of folks losing their minds in grocery stores and other publicly accessible shops and establishments and telling the world they’re oppressed because they have to wear masks? And what you’ve got is a clusterf*ck of consequences that people refuse to accept. With both host @K_Lavenne & @MrMecc dealing wth Corona Virus scares, they decided to sit down and sort through the pluses and minuses of perceived oppression, isolation issues and classic consequences this week on the #MMMKRadioShow on @officialfuburadio via @radiodotcom & @iheartradio!!

Too many people in the year 2021, have no concept of what they’re getting themselves into. The wants, money, power, attention, all of the above, are still the same. And the extraordinary hoops people are willing to jump through to achieve the big three are still the same, there seems to be extra backlash about the consequences that come with the things they want. People who want attention and spend time making everyone look at them, turn and complain about lack of privacy. People who want power over other people crack under the weight of having to make decisions for themselves and others. People who go out of their way to make money, end up complaining about people only being around them because their rich.

The real kicker is, at one time, these consequences were totally acceptable. So when did that change? And who’s fault is that? And what are we supposed to do about it? When it comes to life in the borough of Queens, Tales From The Hood is way more than a cheesy horror flick from the 90’s. Depending on what kind of life you live and friends you have, those tales can be a real life horror show. Or, they can be stories of struggle and inspiration for anyone listening. Overcoming obstacles and having good times with good people while on the road to success.

Either story is going to be told in the barbershop. Which is probably where you’ll find the man known as @Bimmy118st. Of course, very few stories make it to the big screen and are deemed worthy of being told worldwide. But the good folks over at Hulu agreed Bimmy’s is. Hence "Hip Hop Uncovered” put the story of LL Cool AJ’s former A&R, Waka Flocka’s current uncle and Deb Antney’s younger brother in everyone’s living room. But what the man like when he’s not telling tales of streets, struggle and Hip-Hop? Thankfully he pull up on @MrMecc & @K_Lavenne to speak on just that on the #MMMKRadioShow on @officialfuburadio via @radiodotcom & @iheartradio!!

It takes a knack for rhyming words to be a rapper. a great set of vocal chords to be a singer and a good sense of timing and rhythm to be a DJ. But it damn near takes an extra eye to be a filmmaker. You’ve got to balance telling other peoples stories with entertaining an eager audience. Capturing the moments that matter to the film with the scenes that give the crowd a memory. Staying true to the script while being authentic to the business. And all of this happens after the politics of people with deep pockets and separate agendas that do not include the truth, get involved.

The film director has been on the steady walk into these very issues since his career switched from producing Hip-Hop tracks, to directing Hip-Hop videos, to finally directing shorts, plays and feature length films. But how does he decide on which stories to tell? Whose point of view to use? Which actors to include? Will he be ready for the inevitable attempts at corruption that are coming?
