Guiomar Blanco is a musicologist and pianist with two decades of international arts management experience, as well as the Head of European Strategy, and Artist Manager in Arabella Arts. She has collaborated with artists in over 55 countries, focusing on music’s ability to bridge cultural gaps. Guiomar holds a Master’s in Cultural Management and is a 2022 graduate of The Global Leaders in Arts Innovation.
1. Despite her initial focus on academic musicology, she shifted to artist management after an internship, finding joy in working with artists, organizing tours, and engaging in the business side of music.
2. Guiomar believes that authenticity is key to standing out in the classical music industry. She emphasizes the importance of artists finding their own voice and sound, rather than relying solely on competitions or traditional paths.
3. Guiomar stresses the importance of collaboration across the industry—between artists, managers, orchestras, and festivals—to commission and support new compositions and innovative music projects.
