How many of you are tired of Car Warranty or Senior Insurance Calls? This is the recording from my most recent call that I received on 8/23/2021 with GoIGI, who have been calling me now for several years about using their services for my website. In this call, I posed the question "You think or you know" after receiving a response from their representative, Oni that he "thinks" that they would be able to help me by using their services. Listen to the responses afterward. I now know, based on our last conversation, that GoIGI understands where we both stand in regards to their services. August 27, 2021 Episode XIV: Response to the Southern Baptist Convention Passing a Critical Race Theory Resolution
In the June 2019 Annual Meeting, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) passed Resolution 9 on Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality and there has been nothing short of division around this topic for many congregations ever since. Some have come out boldly against this resolution as the six family heads of the SBC were some of the first to do so. Shortly afterward, you saw 15 of its prominent leaders drafting a statement, later referred to as the Dallas Statement, just after the release of the open letter by these families. These leaders came up with 8 points for the church to stand on regarding this resolution, 4 of which are explored in this episode. Yet, the resolution passed with a 2/3 margin, leading to this being one of the most controversial topics in their ongoing meetings and amongst their members. One could even describe this as a dividing force amongst the denomination, no pun intended.
