She is a trained Co-Active Coach (CoActive Training Institute) with a Professional Coach Certificate from the International Coaches Federation and a Master of Public Health in International Health and Development from Tulane University. Her coaching approach draws from additional training in the neuroscience of coaching, embodied coaching (Coaches Rising), mindful meditation (Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield), and anti-racism (Racial Equity Institute and PopWorks Africa).

Dan Savage is an executive coach at the Propel Performance Group, where he supports the senior leadership teams of venture-backed and private equity-backed startups around the world. He has spent his career dedicated to leading, coaching, and developing others and is passionate about pushing individuals and teams to see more in themselves than they thought possible.
Dan began his career at the US Military Academy at West Point, subsequently serving as an infantry officer on the front lines of the Iraq War, planning and executing more than 300 combat operations in Baghdad. After departing military service, Dan completed a master’s degree at Harvard University and began building organizations, programs, and resources to empower individuals facing major career and life transitions.
At Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families, he co-founded the Onward To Opportunity program, a career readiness resource for transitioning veterans which now serves 15,000 individuals per year on over a dozen military bases around the U.S. Dan subsequently led LinkedIn’s military support mission, providing career training and resources to over 300,000 veterans and military spouses over three years. Prior to joining Propel, Dan completed a tour at Sequoia Capital, managing executive education for the CEOs of Sequoia’s most promising Seed and Series A investments.
In addition to his formal education, Dan is a graduate of the US Army’s elite Ranger School, Stanford University’s Ignite Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Presidential Leadership Scholars program. In addition to being a speaker, Dan is a graduate of IndeCollective’s Fall 2022 Cohort, after which point he launched as an independent coach himself.
In this episode, Sam and Dan dive into:
- Digging into why, we think, every independent worker needs to get crystal clear on their 3Ls -- their living, lifestyle, and loving goals.
