I'm a survivor of human trafficking. I didn't tell anyone for such a long time. It was my scary little secret. It would stay that way, I thought.
In 2019 the man who had trafficked me made me famous on a pornography sight by sharing rape videos and photos, and linked them all to my social media pages. I reached out to an anti-trafficking organization here in Colorado who paired me with legal services to assist in having the videos taken down, but I made the mistake one day of thinking I was alone in the office. My boss had been only 100 yards away and could overhear my conversation with my lawyer and never made a sound - until the call ended. When the call ended and I heard him moving around, I knew he had been listening. He knew I was a survivor of trafficking. Less than a month later I was fired. It was the week before Thanksgiving, four months before the pandemic.
It was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I'm now a full time author and public speaker. In 2022 I finally launched a career as a public speaker, talking about overcoming obstacles, letting go of resentment, and learning how to approach the difficult conversations that need to happen before it's too late.
About John Lawyer My story is somewhat unique. The transition from a warrior in Kuwait, Baghdad and Kandahar over many years to a spiritualist and universalist was a powerful experience. I was a counterintelligence special agent when I was in the Army and also an asymmetric warfare specialist responsible for coordinating various operations for a special USAF unit in Afghanistan for six years. So I've gone from receiving a bronze star for counterterrorism operations to walking through a swamp of sadness to an amazing path of spiritual healing and awareness.

Dr. Rutecki is fervently devoted to the world of Functional Medicine, a field she not only practices but genuinely believes in.
She firmly believes that our bodies harbor an intrinsic capability to heal. Just as we have the potential to reverse our biological age, we can also restore our health to its prime. However, Dr. Rutecki's journey into Functional Medicine was a personal one. In her early 30s, she grappled with various health challenges: chronic constipation, persistent bloating, pain, distressing menstrual cycles, acne, rosacea, hair loss, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and sleep disturbances.
She believed this couldn't be the norm for someone her age. Yet, when she sought medical intervention, she encountered a wall. Despite all her symptoms, traditional lab tests returned normal, leaving doctors suggesting antidepressants as a solution. Unconvinced, Dr. Rutecki ventured into Functional Medicine, a decision that reclaimed her health and reshaped her career.
She pursued and achieved certification in the field, and today, she has been the beacon of hope for hundreds. Her clients have successfully rebooted their gut health, bid goodbye to digestive troubles, balanced hormones, reduced inflammation related to autoimmune issues, improved immunity, enhanced sleep, and reinvigorated their energy levels. Whether it's strategies to enhance gut health, advice on mood regulation, sleep optimization techniques, energy-boosting habits, or guidelines for better body composition, she equips her clients with knowledge and tools that lead to tangible health improvements.
Dr. Rutecki's mission is not just about healing; it's about transformation. She's driven by the desire to help people reclaim their lives, realize their fullest potential, and uplift others.
About Josh Dech
I used to be a paramedic, but I quickly realized that I wasn't working in health care, it was more like "sick care", and this left me looking for answers. Over a decade ago, I found the real proactive "health care" field, and one of my first clients came to see me at 57 years old. She was on 26 medications per day, used insulin and was on disability; she even slept with a CPAP machine, and had heart and blood pressure issues. Just 2 years later, she broke her first world record as a weight lifter. This pushed me into the field of functional medicine, where we now understand that the gut is connected to 93% of the leading causes of death, as well as our mental and emotional health, immunity, hormones, pregnancy, motivation, concentration, skin health, weight gain/loss, and so much more.
Madam Bella Cummins is the owner and operator of Bella's Hacienda Ranch, a legal brothel located in Wells, Nevada. The premier adult entertainment destination in Northeast Nevada, Bella's Hacienda provides a safe and lawful option for sex workers to prosperously practice their trade and serve customers from across the globe.
73-year-old Cummins is the longest-serving living female legal brothel owner in the United States. In 1987, she acquired the struggling Hacienda Ranch Brothel and transformed it into the famed "Bella's Hacienda." Leveraging her business acumen and financial expertise, Cummins successfully turned the establishment into one of the most prosperous adult entertainment destinations in the state.
Throughout her career, Cummins has faced and overcome significant challenges, including successfully navigating the AIDS panic of the 1980s and the COVID shutdowns of the 2020s. During the COVID pandemic, when the legal brothels were shuttered by Nevada's governor, Cummins creatively obtained an escort license for her business, allowing sex workers to sustain their income by providing non-sexual companionship services.
In an era when sex workers were often disparaged and marginalized, Cummins pioneered a revolutionary approach within the industry. As the only legal brothel entirely run by sex workers, Bella's Hacienda eliminated exploitative elements, creating a female-led workplace culture centered on trust and teamwork. This environment allowed sex workers to find camaraderie, support, and personal growth, challenging stereotypes and fostering a more positive image of women in the adult entertainment sector.
At the forefront of promoting the legalization of prostitution, Cummins founded the Onesta Foundation. Established in 2018 in response to efforts by religious groups to ban legal brothels in certain Nevada counties, the foundation offers a platform for women working in Nevada's sex industry and facilitates professional development and support for the legal sex work community.
Very recently, Cummins penned an op-ed piece for the Nevada Independent, sharing her views on sex work in Nevada: https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/nevadas-legal-brothel-system-deserves-national-credit
