When was the first time any health care professional talked to you about your pelvic floor? Did you know it makes up part of your core, well beyond your abdominal muscles? Most women don't hear about their pelvic floor until they have a postpartum condition like prolapse or bladder leakage. Which is a shame, because with some conservative care and attention on the pelvic floor, we can possibly avoid and even quickly heal pelvic floor issues before they become chronic. In today's show, Dr. Brianne Grogan, DPT discusses two such postpartum conditions, and she gives a fascinating discussion about kegels (and how doing them wrong can cause damage), how the pelvic floor is an emotional storage center, and so much more about those lady bits you may not have known before. If you're planning to become pregnant, are pregnant, or have had children, you'll definitely benefit from hearing what Dr. Bri has to say today.
