  • How We Introduce "Scary" Movies to Our Kids

    Oct. 31st, 2022 – In this week’s episode, the ladies deliver a fun, spooky episode on this Halloween Monday. They share some of the moviess that scared them as kids & have fun looking back on those days – maybe you know a few!? They then jump into a discussion of how and when they started to approach scary or creepy things with their children. Giving the listener some ideas of when to introduce it & pointing out how it can really be specific for each child. They each have had a pretty different approach on this topic, Sarah being more guarded with scary content and Lauren showing age appropriate thrillers. They even chat about safe starter movies, sharing some age appropriate movies their kids have liked at each stage. They then close out the episode with their weekly hits and misses. Sarah sharing the beatdown that yardwork can be and Lauren loving the beautiful Arizona weather they’ve been having lately.

  • Adult Content on TikTok & Teaching Self Control to Children

    Oct. 24th, 2022 – In this week’s episode, the ladies kick off the show with an update on the new “adult only” feature TikTok has created. How it will work & things to be aware of as a parent. What does adult-only mean to you?? It’s a good reminder to educate yourself on the new happenings in social media & discuss with your child.  They then talk about appropriateness and Lauren laughs at how that specific word has been a thing in their house from day 1. Sarah shares a recent family convo they had around the dinner table this week talking about what’s appropriate and what’s inappropriate for her kids to be sharing with (or viewing from) others. Reminding her littles of the boundaries they need to have to protect themselves. They then dive into the topic of how to teach our kids self control – and how they think it’s such a vital skill to have in today’s world. They give specific ideas like creating a cool-down spot & setting expectations. How to teach kids that actions have consequences and why it’s so important to set boundaries on most things. They then wrap it up with their hits & misses of the week. Sarah missing time with her girlfriends as life gets busier and Lauren sharing how her Caleb is taking to school!

    Oct. 17th, 2022 – In this week’s episode, The Mom Voice is back after an unforeseen week off due to Sarah’s voice. She’s mostly back and gives a brief rundown of what happened… sharing what it was like to have no voice for a week and what the doctor had to say. The ladies then dive into a festive fall chat, sharing all their favorites. They break down traditions of past & present, investing in decor, favorite treats to make and the best scents to buy!! Sarah’s miss of video games at home leads to a chat about how the moms manage playing time in their homes & they even give a few words of advice. It’s one that every mom can relate to!  Lauren then shares her hit of putting on a singing concert with their church for the elderly in their community.
