The Mondo Show

Mondo welcomes former DEA Agent Brian Townsend, international speaker, trainer, and consultant who is tirelessly working to save lives and educate communities about the fentanyl epidemic.

He began his career as a police officer in Joplin, Missouri, and after five years, joined the DEA, dedicating 23 years to combating the drug trade in the United States. Brian also held a national position at the DEA Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia, where he trained countless agents.  In this episode, BrianSynthetic opioids like fentanyl are now the most common drugs involved in overdose deaths in America. Young people are among the hardest hit, and in states like Missouri, over 70% of overdose deaths are connected to fentanyl. To put it into perspective, just two milligrams—an amount smaller than a grain of salt—can be a lethal dose.

Lastly, Brian is the founder of Eagle 6 Training and Only 2mg, two organizations focused on raising awareness and equipping people with the knowledge and tools to fight back against this deadly crisis.

Mondo welcomes Dr. George Barna, New York Times bestselling author, Director of Research, and co-founder of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, to the show! Together, they explore the ongoing battle between secular worldviews and the Christian worldview—a conflict shaping the values of our children and society at large. How did we reach the point where so many have drifted from a biblical worldview? Is this a crisis the Church is failing to address?

Dr. Barna shares powerful insights, including the “Seven Cornerstones of a Biblical Worldview,” essential principles to help realign our faith and nurture the development of our children’s values. He also discusses his latest book, Raising Spiritual Champions: Nurturing Your Child’s Heart, Mind, and Soul. Don’t miss this thought-provoking conversation about reclaiming biblical truth for the next generation.

As we scroll through today’s headlines, it feels as though we’re reading directly from the pages of Scripture. Global powers clash, teetering on the brink of what some are calling World War III. Nations like China launch cyberattacks, Hollywood scandals reveal hidden darkness, and cultural icons are caught in whirlwinds of corruption and accusations. Social media glorifies wealth, fame, and self-obsession, while influencers profit by promoting materialism and a culture of “self-love.” In this episode, we examine one of the most dangerous signs of the times—the rise of self-worship—and the impact it’s having on our world. While these times may feel unsettling, we are not without hope. Jesus reminds us in John 16:33, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Join me as we dive into these pressing topics and discover how to remain grounded in faith during these challenging times.
