The Monumental Podcast

We are back to discuss what is going on the The Wrestling Observer and Figure 4 Online. What's going on with all the AI slop and new writers? Why are people mad at Dave Meltzer? Why is Karl Stern mad at Dave. Could the site have been sold? What is Bryan Alvarez's role in all of this?

We'll talk about all of this jumping off with Karl Stern's latest patreon exclusive segments on his When it Was Cool patreon.

I apologize for the sound quality in this episode and the last one. Hulkamatt promised his mic was working and we didn't have to wait for his new one to come. He should be Hulkamatt of the Week, I agree. I will try to remember next time. Anyway this episode sees us discuss Bryan Alvarez's second book "100 Things WWE Fans Should Know or Do Before They Die" or more specifically, Hulkamatt tries to guess what they are.

Join us for the annual tradition, it's the Hulkamatt of the Year! Who will win this prestigious award in the world of pro wrestling?

We are back to talk Hulkamatts of the Week with nominees ranging from Linda McMahon to the WWE fans and then the biggest match of the year, Thom Latimer vs Aron Stevens in a Mint Julep Match for the NWA Worlds Title!

Join Hulkamatt and take The Hollow Earth Quiz! You'll be quizzed on information from Dallas Thompson's 2002 interview with Art Bell about his proposed expedition into the Hollow Earth. Let's journey into the funniest episode of Coast to Coast AM ever aired.

Join us for a lengthy, semi impromptu history of GarfieldEATS, the Garfield themed quick service restaurant run by the youngest ever Garfield Licensee. We'll examine the restaurant, why Garfield should NOT be a rat, whether Chris Fart is the right voice for Garfield and which pantone colors are proper for Garfield.

We take a break from pro-wrestling (except for the Hulkamatts of the Week) to talk Art Bell, specifically Bugs, the legendary Bigfoot killer but also Art in general. We briefly run down what we like about Coast to Coast AM, what we don't like, why I stopped listening, favorite episodes like Mel's Hole, and more. But we (unsuccessfully) try to focus on Bugs, the man who claimed to kill and bury two Bigfoot in the 70s. Who was Bugs? What do we think of his story? What do we know about Bugs today? You might be surprised!

After five long years we have finished Hulk Hogan's first biography! Join us as HULKAMATT takes you through Hulk Hogan's 1998-2002 with stories you will not believe!

A common refrain is that we can't throw the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to WWE and their recent sex trafficking allegations. How true is it that no one would know what Vince was up to? We go back through WWE's history of abuse scandals and look at how allegations in the Ring Boy Scandal, Ashley Massaro's claims and the most public allegation at Vince McMahon all involve multiple witnesses, or open knowledge by WWE talent and executives.
