Jeff and May Holstead felt fortunate, farming their wheat field in Graceville with a loan from Cephas Cooper. Things seemed well for Jeff and May until they realize Cephas is setting them up for disaster.

The Lone Ranger knows that Zeb Wells feelings towards Westerners is ruining the town. They also know that outlaws are getting ready to rob the town, and the Lone Ranger hatches a plan to help Cliff Dolan prove Westerners are not as worthless as Zeb thinks.

Wellsville was founded by Zeb Wells. Nate porter is the marshall and enforces Zebs wish that no one carries a gun. The Lone Ranger and Tonto visit Wellsville and give up their guns, but know there are a couple of outlaws in town. Meanwhile Mr Wells daughter is planning to marry a Westerner, against her fathers wishes.

The wrong man has been identified as Pete Lorenzo and he is jailed for the murder of a bank teller. He seems to have found someone willing to help him break free, but the plan is suspicious and The Lone Ranger knows the he and Tonto need to intervene.

Gold was discovered in Carson City. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were headed there, and Tonto has a funny feeling that Pete Lorenzo is there, who was wanted for murder. When they arrive the bank was just robbed and the teller murdered.

Matt Hanover is scheming a plot to take advantage of Jim Rockwell, who generously offered him to share in his gold claim. After sealing Jim in the mine he will have to rely on the masked rider to save him and find justice.

Ike Hanover, a widower, was raising his worthless son Matt and wishing he would be more like his nephew Jim Rockwell, who was mining for gold. After Jim makes a find he generously offers to let Matt join him in the work, but can Matt be trusted? Tonto had bad feelings about Matt.

The government decided in favor of the settlers in the disputed land claim near Big Ben, but the agent sent by the government was kidnapped. The Lone Ranger and Tonto have to find out what happened to the agent with the help of Sam Lemix, the blind ex stage driver.

Trouble is brewing in the vicinity of Big Ben when an Eastern company, basing its claim on an old land grant, attemps to take over the homes and property of settlers in the disupted territory.

Bolivar and Hacksaw were having much success in collecting taxes, but their true colors were about to be tested. They make a mistake that will cost them, but the Lone Ranger has a plan to bring Bolivar and Hacksaw to their senses.
