This week, Kellie and Gabe discuss the first debate between Rich Cordray and Mike DeWine.

Answering a great question from Dayton Daily News reporter Laura Bischoff, Rich Cordray gave a rockstar answer to let everyone know his views on Brett Kavanaugh, sexual harassment, equal pay, and abortion rights. He clearly stated he supports women and would veto a six-week abortion ban! 

To top it all off, he confronted Mike DeWine and forced DeWine to admit that he would sign the six-week abortion ban, known as the heartbeat bill.

This week, Kelley, Gabe, and Vashitta discuss the new campaign from Nike featuring Colin Kaepernick and Serena Williams. The two athletes have become cultural icons in their own unique ways. Nike is promoting the 30th anniversary of their Just do it. campaign.

We’re also obviously watching the hearings in the US Senate over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court. Hours before we sat down to record, Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey) released confidential emails to show the public the nature of what documents Republicans have been hiding from the American people. His actions were in violation of Senate rules, but when he was informed of the possible punishment he faced, his reply was “Bring it on.”

This week, Gabe and Jaime discuss the US Senate hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Sen. Sherrod Brown is listening to Kavanaugh, but has said he has serious questions on Kavanaugh's qualifications.

Sen. Brown also met with reproductive justice organizations today, including the Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, ROOTT, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, and many of our Patients to Advocates fellows.

They discuss a new effort by Jim Jordan to distract from a massive sexual assault scandal. He's trying to impeach United States Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and run for the Speaker of the House.

Sen. Rob Portman expressed his support for Judge Brett Kavanaugh in an op-ed. He's apparently not interested in further investigating Kavanaugh's troubling record.

Finally, we were thrilled to see Danny O'Connor tweet support for NARAL and use the A-word TWICE in a tweet. O'Connor's running a terrific campaign for Ohio's 12th Congressional District in an August 7 Special Election.
