Benji Backer is proud and humbled to announce that Conservatives for Environmental Reform PAC, an organization he founded to change the conservative narrative when it comes to environmental reform, begins its launch Friday 27 Jan 17.

SEATTLE, WA — Led by millennials from across the country, Conservatives for Environmental Reform (CFER)

began its first phase of its launch on Friday morning by releasing its platform. With the conservative

movement under recent media scrutiny in regards to environmental issues, it couldn’t be more timely.

CFER’s platform includes (but is not limited to):

1.) Ensuring the protection of state/national parks while incentivizing the acquisition of future

land/wildlife conservation

2.) Encouraging cities to allot land for urban farming

3.) Encouraging increased aid for rural farmers

4.) Support of incentives/laws for water conservation and cleanliness

5.) Support of policies that encourage alternative energy usage

6.) Support of carbon pricing initiatives like Initiative 732 in Washington State

CFER, filed as a PAC, aims to educate and activate conservatives nationwide when it comes to its pro-environment and free market platform. CFER will also be advocating for policies and conservative politicians/candidates who put an emphasis on improving the environmental problems we face as a nation. Taking a moderate, yet free-market approach to the environmental issues we face, CFER is excited to bring conservatism to the environmental community and vice-versa. “Many conservatives need to realize that it isn’t just about climate change. There are so many other environmental issues we face as a country that need immediate attention...our team is incredibly excited to unite Americans and begin working towards environmental reform.” Benji Backer, the founder and president.

Currently, CFER already has the backing of groups such as Audubon, OurClimate, Citizens Climate Lobby, RepublicEn, and Defending Our Future. A full launch will occur in the following weeks.

Rachel Bovard, an experienced hand on Capitol Hill, is director of policy services for The Heritage Foundation. In this role, she works to provide members of Congress with the think tank’s policy recommendations, in-depth analyses, and latest conservative solutions.

In case you missed it: Heritage’s “Blueprint” used for Trump’s plan to cut government spending -- Staffers for the Trump team have been outlining their plans for shrinking the federal bureaucracy. Overall, the blueprint being used by Trump’s team would reduce federal spending by $10.5 trillion over 10 years. The proposed cuts hew closely to a blueprint published last year by the Heritage Foundation.
