English high school teachers' union agreed to continue negotiations until October's conclusion and submit unresolved matters to arbitration. Education Minister Stephen Lecce appealed to the remaining three teachers' unions to endorse a similar arrangement. However, the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario expressed discontent with the slow process of negotiations with the provincial authorities. Consequently, they have announced their intention to pursue conciliation procedures in preparation for a strike vote scheduled for September.

In a report by RBC Economics, it was highlighted that debt among Canadian millennials has reached unprecedented levels. This situation could pose risks if they face employment uncertainties. Meanwhile, the Conference Board of Canada issued another report cautioning that the economy is on the brink of stagnation due to the depletion of savings that Canadians had accumulated during the pandemic.

In September, city officials will select the sites for the initial three to five hubs. The intention is to inaugurate the first hubs by December, with approximately 15 hubs operational by the project's completion. The hubs will include access to care, transitional and respite beds, health and wellness services and more.

Over 26 local non-profits will receive almost $2 million in federal grants from the United Way Elgin Middlesex. These grants, totaling $1.9 million, are part of the federal government's $400 million investment in the Community Services Relief Fund. The funds will aid charities in London, Middlesex, and Elgin counties, enabling them to initiate new programs that assist their communities during the pandemic recovery.

In July of 2020, at 25, Cameron Harvey Machado lost his battle to mental illness. From that pain has emerged something wonderful, which is Kicks for Strength. This weekend, the fundraiser will take place to support the Cameron Harvey Machado Memorial Fund in collaboration with St. Joseph Health Care Foundation.

On June 3rd, Sarah Kempinska married Jim Kelly in St. Jacobs. However, it almost didn't happen. Two weeks before, Sarah went to the hospital for a procedure for an auto-immune disorder. There was a complication, and she wound up in a coma. There were only a few days to go when she emerged, but miraculously, she recovered in time to walk down the aisle.
