"[...] Everything that was revealed to Apostle Paul by Christ could not compensate the learning process that he acquired through personal experience."


There are things that REVELATION can bring to you but there are those that you learn through experiences. As believers in Christ, we learn to apply  the knowledge that we have received of our standing, identity, placement and participation in Christ so that the knowledge in us can be SEEN outwardly through our actions. Christ has established for us to stand on new creation realities, so we live in a state of permanent contentment and joy, regardless of the situations, circumstances or temporary needs that we face. 

In this new series, Dr. Annie Smith expounds on the DIFFERENCE between our standing and state in Christ, revealing the importance of keeping a burning desire to learn whose we are, who we are in Christ and what we have received in Him.

In His incarnation Christ walked on earth as us. God made Him unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Cor. 1:30). He separated our minds from that which is common to the mortal man, so that our reflection about ourselves should be according to what He has become for us.

NOTHING can substitute the quality of life that we have in Christ as the sons of God.  As we learn to interpret every reality based on Christ, we learn to live as He lived among men on earth. 

In this series entitled "Sophronismos", Dr. Annie Smith shows us through the Word of God how we can practice the peace of God daily and choose to live  consecrated  lives unaffected by carnal thoughts nor subjected to world events.

There is a STATE that refers to our natural conditions, outward circumstances but by the grace of God we’ve inherited a new state, a new condition wherein we stand in our position as sons in Christ. We have been introduced into this permanent state of bliss by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Though invisible to the natural mind, our NEW STATE in Christ is our authentic state and we have the responsibility to stand in it by acknowledging our POSITION instead of our CONDITIONS. Outward happenings and exterior circumstances should no longer be converted into internal stress, leaving our souls unstable and "out of tune" with the Spirit of God. We are no longer easily moved by circumstances but the Lord is giving us access to everything that Christ has made us to be in our new state.

God Himself establishes you according to the logos, His gospel, the preaching of Jesus Christ and according to the revelation of the mystery that is made manifest.

"Grace is the effectual working of God’s power in you which requires you to know your placement in the body of Christ."

Many people, just like the Corinthians in the first century, in the days of Apostle Paul, have knowledge, and even believe with the Faith of Christ but the VIEWS that they hold in their mind supplants the mind of Christ with regards to their GENEROSITY.

Applying human reasoning in certain aspect of your life in Christ, such as giving and service, will hinder you from experiencing GOD’S WISDOM. We are to allow the wisdom of Christ to be expressed in us. One of the proofs that you have come to the knowledge of Christ is that you yield fully to grace. Until you rely on grace and His power working in you, you won’t obtain the RESULT of that power.

We are treated the same in Christ and we all benefit from His resurrection by partaking together with Him. We experience the gift of redemptive salvation by receiving the gospel. By faith, we make our initial confession to affirm the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Thereafter, our transformative salvation begins and this process of transformation is a subjective and progressive experience of our soul that is intertwined with Christ. It happens when you renounce your self-righteousness and learn what the Lordship of Jesus Christ truly means.  When you come to the knowledge of Christ, your transformation is being made efficacious. You no longer have zeal without knowledge, you stop trying to establish your own righteousness. As you awake to your true identity in Christ, the effects of His work are seen in and through you.

You learn to acknowledge in your mind and heart, your oneness with Him. When you rest in the perfection of the work of Christ, you are quickened together with Him and understand your role as the son of God at the frontline of His agenda.

In Christ, man has been included into the shared life of the Father and Son. The universe has been called to participate in our Sonship. Creation is groaning to see the face of God in a mature son who interacts with the nature of God. 

For us to manifest that which we have already received in Christ, we ought to live coherently with God’s original intent for us. The walk of faith is a CONTINUOUS process of participation in, and understanding this shared life in which we have been placed. The groaning within us is the desire to press forth and experience the true Son, who is already in us  for the universe to yield itself to us.

“Because of Christ's resurrection, our faith is not vain; the whole cosmos has no choice but to yield itself to us...”

Pre-creation, the plan of God was to include Man into His shared life by making us compatible with Him. When Adam fell, all of creation, including man was subjected to vanity, confusion and loneliness. However, in spite of the fall, the Eternal plan remained untainted because man's rebellion was not a surprise to the Father. Christ in His incarnation identified with and embraced our humanity. This has taken you out of that confused state so you can embrace your compatibility with the Father and His plan. In Christ, you were raised back into the fullness of the stature of God to realize how much compatible you are with Him. Your coherence with the Divine nature makes creation equally compatible with you.

You are a microcosm of the universe in bodily form. God has given you lordship and dominion over creation, which was designed to be compatible with you. Creation finds its purpose in your being as a son of God, such that all things work together for your good. As you become conscious that the whole arrangement of the cosmos doesn't work against you, you learn to view things from your position in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Your inclusion into the Godhead enables you to make things within the universe live afresh and aligned with the Divine plan. You have been bestowed with every power and the necessary equipment to give a proper response to the groanings of the universe, to influence the order of things with utterances, so that the universe works together for the plan of God. Your union with the Father causes you to spread forth the Divine light wherever you are.

‘’[…] The lifestyle of giving is the practice of our liberty.”

Giving is a major aspect of our liberty in Christ. However, most believers don't experience it because they are entangled by the consciousness of their needs which leads them to hold onto finances, in an attempt to "secure tomorrow". Money CANNOT guarantee a future. Those who try to have money simply for the sake of having it, end up not enjoying it because they are consumed by the fear of not having. Christ has given us His life and in Him, liberty has become our true nature. Our lives are no longer limited to what we have, what we can do or what we can obtain.

As you move away from a life focused on self, you learn to see things from God’s perceptive, focus on His purpose and choose to accept to give away what once controlled you.

“[…] When you enter into your glorious liberty, your view of others changes, because you equally see them as being reconciled with Christ and included in Him.”

Christ has redeemed us from the CURSE of the law. He opened the prison door and translated us into a life of freedom. Thus, our FREEDOM took place in Him; it is, therefore, an indicative of His life. However, the unrenewed part of the soul always wants to be focused on self and remain isolated from others. We are not saved to live for ourselves nor our personal gain. Our life is to be a daily ministry of Christ. In the practice of your liberty, you go towards others for the love of Christ. 

To be efficient in the faith, you are to choose to stand in Christ's stead on every occasion, for that is your REAL liberty. You are REDEEMED for a great purpose; God fulfills all your needs once you are led by His purpose and learn to live for others.
