We often focus on one aspect of health or wellness at a time and often only address it when we are in crisis mode. There are multiple dimensions of health though that influence our overall wellbeing.
For this week's episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour show, we interviewed Dr. Nadine Kelly about 6 dimensions of health that we can address to improve our lives. Dr. Kelly is a retired physician, yoga instructor, certified health coach and senior exercise specialist.
Dr. Kelly shared her background of being a pathologist and finding herself suffering from clinical depression. She took steps to explore her health and retired from pathology to help people in a different way: through yoga, health coaching and exercise.
We discussed the 6 health dimensions including social, emotional, mental, physical, intellectual and spiritual. Dr. Kelly dove into each of these topics and gave tips on what to consider to improve your functioning in each area.
She also shared how she makes yoga accessible to mature women of all physical levels and how she helps her students manage chronic conditions like cancer.
Dr. Kelly is also the founder of YOGI M.D. and is the host of the YOGI M.D. podcast. Her work has helped countless women improve their quality of life through holistic means.
