We take a look at the meaning of a scale and then get deep into how Greek music was used and the tools they used to create it.

The Hurrian Hymn No. 6 is the earliest example we've found of a performable selection of written music. We look at the culture surrounding the hymn, and relate it to a discussion about Melody and Harmony.

-The show will be academic and chronological. Some basic theoretical concepts will be shared every episode so that if you don't have a musical education you'll be able to learn a little fundamental music theory. These two or three principals will be examined in their relationship to whatever historic piece or composer we are examining.
