The Mutual Audio Network

A handful of fading memories, the remains of a research project, and a garbled tape recorder are all Dr Miranda Quan has to her name… all this and more can be heard in this week’s feature as Jack and David present Alex Yun, Andrea Klassen and Procyon Podcast Network’s Station to Station on the final day of NADSWRIM 2021. Fresh from the Sonic Summerstock Playhouse, Project Audion is back and this time with "Matinee with Bob and Ray" is a enjoyable half-hour of fun emulating the cult radio comedy duo of Bob & Ray. For those who are NOT intimately familiar with Biff Burns, or Komodo dragons, or the Slow Talkers of America, I'll tell you that Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding were brought together (legend has it) by accident, in the mid-1940s when a baseball game broadcast was rained out and these two young men went on the air to fill time ad-libbing. Their wit and deadpan characters influenced many later funnymen, among them Bob Newhart, David Letterman, Jay Leno and others.

Bob & Ray also influenced Pete Lutz. And he wrote for us this new half-hour of absurdly satiric sketches that brings the droll style of "The Two and Only" back to life in a new "Matinee with Bob & Ray!" Nothing heavy here - just summer fun with this Audion Original. Oh, and also -- after 58 episodes, it features our first LIVE organ accompaniment! Here are the fellows in action --
