1908 in a small upscale village in Kent.  Retired Major General Charles Luard, and his wife, Caroline, have gone on their daily walk, admiring the views as they do. Then they part ways: Charles heads to his golf club and Caroline heads back to the house for a planned afternoon tea with a friend.
But Caroline never arrives back.  Some several hours later, Charles re-traces his steps to find Caroline has been brutally murdered at a summer house they passed on their path that morning.
The mystery, with such a high-ranking officer and with minimal clues, brought in Scotland yard.
The mystery deepens as Charles, devasted by the loss of his wife, begins to receive a barrage of anonymous poison pen letters, many post marked from within the small quiet village, accusing him of murdering his wife.
This case made the headlines at the time. We take a look at the background, the story and the conclusion of this Scotland yard mystery.
