The Mythic Mic Podcast

🎙️ Welcome back to The Mythic Mic Podcast, where myths intertwine with reality, legends come to life, and fantasy is more than just a story! In this episode, host Bethany Amanda is joined by USA Today bestselling author Kate King, whose new romantasy A Thorn in Every Heart is a lush, emotional portal fantasy where Beauty and the Beast collides with Anastasia. If you’ve ever dreamed of escaping into a snowy realm of curses, secrets, bodyguard romance, and self-discovery—this is your moment.

🗝️ What if your one-night stand didn’t end with regret… but with a kidnapping to a cursed fairytale realm? 🌹 What if Belle was your grandmother—and the real story wasn’t the one in the storybooks? ❄️ And what if rediscovering yourself meant stepping into the cold, cursed dark… and falling in love?

Kate takes us behind the scenes of her enchanting new series, The Enchanted Legacies, and opens up about what it means to start over at 30, why she intentionally wrote a fantasy for women who grew up on portal stories, and how character art (including the spicy kind!) adds a whole new layer to the reading experience. We also geek out over libraries, Libba Bray, and the YA fantasy books that shaped us.

Oh, and did we mention there’s a magical GIVEAWAY? Stay tuned. 👀

Welcome back to The Mythic Mic Podcast, where myths intertwine with reality, legends come to life, and fantasy is more than just a story! In this episode, host Bethany Amanda peels back the layers of mythology, magic, and romance with none other than Randi Garner, author of The Goddess Of and the upcoming sequel Even in Death. If you love star-crossed lovers, cursed gods, and the fine line between power and fate, this is an episode you cannot miss!

💫 What happens when a powerless goddess defies the gods?
🔥 What’s the cost of love when curses are real?
⚔️ And why is book two bringing us one of the most delicious enemies-to-lovers rivalries we’ve ever seen?

Randi takes us inside the world of The Fragile Divine series, a mythic, darkly romantic saga where gods rule with an iron grip, love is a dangerous game, and fate always has the final say. She spills the behind-the-scenes secrets of her worldbuilding, talks about the inspiration behind her characters (and their heartbreak), and gives us exclusive teasers for book two—including the chaotic, snarky, and utterly scorching dynamic between the High God of Death and Curses and a rebellious necromancer.

And did we mention a giveaway? Oh yeah. A big one. Keep reading. 👀

✨ The Greek & Asian mythology mashup that shaped The Fragile Divine series
✨ Why The Goddess Of was almost titled something else (and how Randi figured out her heroine’s destiny along the way)
✨ Curses, love, and divine power struggles—the major themes of the series
✨ The forbidden romance that will rip your heart out (but in the best way!)
✨ What to expect in Even in Death (including one of the spiciest enemies-to-lovers rivalries we've ever seen!)
✨ Randi’s favorite authors & the books that destroyed her soul (in a good way!)

And of course, we end the show with some wild rapid-fire questions where Randi reveals:

📺 What would be the biggest scandal on the gods’ version of Keeping Up with the Kardashians?
🚗 What would Naia's ridiculous vanity license plate say?
📣 How Ronin and Naia would accidentally go viral?
