In this episode Stephanie and I talk about how to integrate your spiritual path by embracing the human experience. In the spiritual communities we often hear ‘be positive’ ‘focus on the law of attraction’ ‘etc. While there is a universal law of attraction, and ultimately we desire to move from a place of positivity, it becomes spiritual bypassing when we don’t honor our emotions. Our emotions are the portal to awakening. They are not something to ‘skip past’ and label as ‘bad’ or ‘negative’. We talk about emotions being a GPS system and how to befriend them.
Another topic we talk about is the ‘addiction to spirituality’. Being at the end of this spectrum was perfect for our growth in the moment but it actually separated us from our fellow humans. We learned how to become our full selves by remembering the human experience itself is sacred, and yes that includes Netflix, swearing, and eating things that aren’t ‘conscious’ sometimes, everything in balance creates wholeheartedness.
We finish off the cast’ with a conversation about the power of intention. Intention helps us look at everything in the earth classroom as an assignment. When we use intention in our daily life we are able to see more ease-fully through the messiness of triggers and embody higher virtues.
Highlights :
“Spiritual growth is developing our body of light and transforming matter into a higher vibration. This transformation is what is called spiritual growth. As we grow spirituality we become more of our naked essence, which I call my higher self. In the process of becoming our higher self, you need to do the inner work. The inner work is working with the personality, the ego , which the emotional aspect of this realm. It is healing, developing, integrating, and evolving our sub personality so we can then align with our higher self.”
“If your having negative emotions and you always want to be positive then your actually not in alignment. Your emotions are your friends, they are your indicator. You have to own every aspect of your self, the good the bad, the light and dark. We can use spirituality as an escapism.”
“There is all this talk about spirituality and the law of attraction ,lets be positive, gratitude, namaste.. We are using al these beautiful sayings and quotes, but what does it all really mean? It doesn't matter how many beautiful quotes you say or how many spiritual words you know. It’s all about if you are living it in your daily life. One of the the things I think people often misconstrue is believing spirituality is about being constantly positive. We actually can use positivity as a way of bypassing our emotions- this defeats the purpose of spiritual growth “
“Spirituality is about being able to master this reality.Your being spiritual in each moment you can bring more love and light into the things you do, deal with yourself in compassion, hold yourself, and have less judgement. Spirituality is also about being human”
“ The inner work is the most important part of your spiritual growth “
