In 2 Peter 1:16-21, we study why we can trust the Bible as God’s Word. There are many attacks on the Bible from our culture today so how do we defend against it? First, we know that God has revealed truth to us. He has given us general revelation (creation + conscience) and specific revelation (Christ and Scripture). God has specifically given us his message through utilizing human authors to create an exact record of God’s revelation. Because God has spoken through Scripture we must listen to it. It is the authority by which we will be held accountable so may we be quick to listen and obey it!

In Matthew 7:13-14 we study the two paths that all humans are on: the wide road or the narrow road. The wide road—characteristic of the non-christian life—is comfortable, easy, and filled with many people but leads to destruction. The narrow road—characteristic of the Christian life—is difficult, challenging, and filled with few but leads to life. Satan wants to do all he can to keep people on the wide road, but we must see the urgency to join the narrow road. The JH ministry seeks to point students to the narrow road, prepare students for the narrow road, and practice with students how to live on the narrow road.
