1. Botswana- Zambia
Botswana, Zambia Leaders to Launch Kazungula Bridge Authority Today
President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko of Botswana and President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia will jointly officiate the launch of the Kazungula Bridge Authority in Chobe.
The event marks a significant milestone in strengthening cross-border cooperation and infrastructure management between the two neighbouring countries.
2. DR Kongo - Burundi
A vital border crossing between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi reopened yesterday, more than two months after it was shut during an offensive by Rwanda-backed M23 rebels in eastern DRC, sources on both sides confirmed.
The Kavimvira post on Lake Tanganyika, crucial for regional trade along the main road linking Bujumbura to Uvira, was closed in December as M23 advanced toward Uvira.
