Burundians are voting today in the country’s first legislative elections since 2020, when President Evariste Ndayishimiye came to office.
They will be choosing lawmakers to serve on the 123-seat National Assembly, the lower house of parliament.

The M23 rebel movement has rejected a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report accusing it of executing at least 21 civilians in the eastern DR Congo city of Goma in February, branding the claims as fabricated and politically motivated.
