1.    DR Congo – Angola 
Angola urges ceasefire ahead of DRC-M23 peace talks
Angolan President João Lourenço, currently chair of the African Union, has called for an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Lourenço urged all parties to stop hostilities starting at midnight local time on Sunday, in an effort to create a peaceful atmosphere for upcoming peace talks.

2.    South Sudan – Upper Nile State 
Bombing reported in Nasir, escalating tensions
An airstrike struck the town of Nasir in South Sudan’s Upper Nile State late on Sunday, causing civilian casualties and fires, local officials and witnesses said, amid escalating tensions between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and rival groups aligned with First Vice President Riek Machar.

3.    Angola – Botswana, Tanzania, Mozambique 
Angola is under scrutiny after denying entry to several senior African political figures who were set to attend a conference hosted by the country's main opposition party, the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (Unita).

Unita had invited a range of politicians, including Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu, Mozambique's Venancio Mondlane, and Botswana's former President Ian Khama, to a summit on democracy. 

4.    Namibia- Onamutai Village 
President-elect Netumbo Nandi- Ndaitwah says tough times are ahead for her when she takes over as president this week.She says running a country is not the same as running political campaigns.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said this while addressing the Onamutai Anglican church congregation on Sunday.

5.    In our historical archives, it was on this day 17 March 1985 when Angela Sibongile Makeba went into premature labor at the age of 35 and due to complications after losing the unborn child, she lost her life also and was buried in Guinea- Conakry. 
Born Angela Sibongile Makeba and in matrimonial Angela Sibongile Makeba-Lee, Bongi would eventually blossom into a creative Artist in her own right, both as a Singer, Composer and Songwriter; where she would distinguish herself by penning songs such as: "West Wind", "A luta Continua",  "Lumumba", "Do You Remember Malcolm?" and "Quit It" - among others all sung by her Mother - Miriam Makeba.
