DR Congo: ICC tribunal closely monitoring surge in fighting

International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutors said they were "closely following" events in the Democratic Republic of Congo amid renewed fighting between M23 rebels and Congolese forces.

Chief prosecutor Karim Khan opened an investigation into the conflict in eastern Congo last October, and yestsrday, his office issued an urgent call for any information on alleged war crimes.

Trump Cuts Aid to Kenya-Led Haiti Mission As UN Warns of a Funding Crisis

The United States has issued a stop order on funding for the Kenya-led Haiti Multinational Security Support Mission, plunging the UN-backed campaign into a funding crisis.

The United Nations (UN) confirmed the funding freeze, with AFP quoting Stéphane Dujarric, the UN Secretary-General's spokesperson, as saying the move would impact USD 13.3 million in pending aid.

Cyber Attack Exposes Business Deals of Kenya's Political Elite, Ruto and Kenyatta

In a major breach of security, a cyberattack in Kenya exposed the private business dealings of President William Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, among other prominent figures.

The attack targeted the Business Registration Services (BRS), one of Kenya's most data-rich government agencies. The BRS holds sensitive, private information on all registered companies, including their owners, beneficial owners, and directors.

Privately Funded Presidential Centre to Honour Geingob's Leadership Legacy

A memorial centre in honour of late president Hage Geingob will not be funded by taxpayers money, but will be financed through fundraising. This was confirmed by presidential spokesperson Alfredo Hengari yesterday. Former first lady Monica Geingos yesterday announced that a Dr Hage G Geingob Presidential Centre will be constructed in honour of the late president.
