The National Defense has a great show this week as we welcome two great actors to the program, Mark Wahlberg and the legendary Charlie Sheen. Both men discuss their history in Hollywood, their time onscreen portraying men in the United States military, and much more in this star-studded show, all this week on The National Defense!

The National Defense kicks off this week with author David Burnett (“Making a Night Stalker”), discussing a little-known piece of modern military history from the perspective of a Chinook helicopter crew-chief in the 160th Special Operations Aviation unit. David talks about his service as a crew-chief on the Chinook, and what readers can expect when picking up a copy of the great book “Making a Night Stalker.”
Then, Randy welcomes Ford Motor Company’s SUV Marketing Manager Craig Patterson to discuss his history with the company as well as the exciting news on the brand-new Ford Escape. It’s all about machines and the people who move them, this week on The National Defense!

This week’s National Defense features interviews with Wounded Warrior Project’s Vice President for Engagement and Physical Health and Wellness, Tracy Farrell, to the program to talk about not only her background in the Military Police but her current work in keeping our veterans physically active and healthy. Then, we feature a very interesting story from Gillette’s Senior Archivist, Greg McCoy, to talk about the link between Gillette and the American Military from World War I all the way through our modern-day military. This week on The National Defense we welcome best-selling author and supporter of the American military, James Patterson, to the program to discuss his prolific career, his support of our American men and women in Uniform, and his new book “The Cornwalls Are Gone” in a great interview with Randy Miller. This week's show kicks off with Nate Boyer, a United States Army Green Beret, and long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks. Randy and Nate discuss his military and football career, and his co-founding - along with Jay Glazer - of "MVP": Merging Vets & Players. MVP matches up combat veterans and former professional athletes together to give them a new team to tackle the transition to civilian life together.
Next, its retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michael Ferriter, who served as Commanding General of the United States Army Installation Management Command/U.S. Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management. We talk about his storied military career, and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum he is heading up in Columbus, Ohio.

We welcome the COO of Gorilla Glue, Rob Lackman, and Aaron Fromm, Marketing Director, to the show to talk about some of the great work that Gorilla Glue and O’keefe’s Working Hands are doing to put together packages for Operation Gratitude.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and Randy and Jerry welcome Wounded Warrior Project’s Alex Balbir, director for Warrior Care Network and Independence Services. Alex discusses the nature of brain injury, and the work that Wounded Warrior is undertaking in helping those affected manage with the symptoms of TBI.

This week on The National Defense, we speak with Air Force Academy graduate and veteran jet pilot Otis Hooper about his career in the military, his ranking as a man in Men’s Health magazine, and the launch of launch of Gillette Hydra Gels, and Gillette Deodorant’s partnership with Operation Homefront coming this summer. We also welcome back Heather Prill, Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Programs for the Home Depot Foundation to talk about the unending level of support for our military families and veterans who need assistance. This week on The National Defense we welcome Antoinette Williams, a 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force who has agreed to take the on the mission of opening and establishing the new American Red Cross office at Mihail Kogalniceanu, Airbase, Romania in support of the U.S. forces in Eastern Europe. We also welcome a new partner to the show, Gillette Blades and Razors and with that speak to Nick Harrington from Gillette’s Consumer Research and Development team in Boston to discuss the latest and greatest innovations in shaving your face or wherever else you need to be less hirsute.
