KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC - Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu - has demanded a full report from officials after a nurse was allegedly raped in a hospital by someone who pretended to need medical attention. Simelane-Zulu says the man went to a consulting room in an internal clinic of the Nkojeni Hospital in the Mahlabathini area in southern KwaZulu-Natal. He overpowered the nurse in the consulting room and raped her. Simelane-Zulu is demanding to know how the alleged rapist could apparently slip out of the hospital undetected. The department of public works in the Eastern Cape has issued a call for proposals for the redevelopment and leasing of certain state owned properties in the province. 20 World News today: Human rights abuses in Uganda: Yesterday, Eight Ugandan journalists were detained as they marched in the capital Kampala to protest what they said were police abuses, including beatings and detentions, during coverage of student protests last month. The alleged abuses took place for several days starting on Oct. 22 after students at Uganda's largest public university, Makerere, staged protests against planned fee increases.
