This week, the communities of Ports St. Johns and Lusikisiki have been affected by taxi violence. Five people have been injured since the start of the violence that started on Wednesday. Pupils who attend 40 schools who rely on public transport have been displaced and businesses have been forced to close. Members of an organization called Potch for Palestine are protesting outside the stadium against Demoted SA Under-19 captain David Teeger who made comments in support of the Israeli Defence Force at an awards ceremony last year.

Yesterday, the South African Jewish Board of Deputies staged a protest outside the offices of Cricket South Africa, they were calling for the reinstatement of David Teeger as South African Under-19 captain.

The Africa Diaspora Forum (ADF) is calling on the South African government to grant special permits to Zimbabwean domestic workers. The forum, which represents the interests of foreigners in South Africa, said there are thousands of Zimbabwean domestic workers who are living or working for South African families.
