Today King Charles begins a four-day state visit to Kenya, his first state visit to a Commonwealth country as monarch. According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles is expected to tackle the more painful aspects of the UK's historic relationship with Kenya. On the other hand, the Kenyan Human Rights Commission has made it clear that the dark past of British colonial rule in Kenya remains largely unaddressed and they are demanding that King Charles must offer an unequivocal public apology for abuses during colonial rule.

Police officer Wendell Jonathan says there was no assault case or complaint against him after accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa trial alleged he was involved in the assault and torture. Jonathan has wrapped up his testimony in the trial within a trial underway in the High Court in Pretoria. He was part of the team responsible for escorting accused 1 and 2 to various locations after their arrests in 2020. He has been accused of being part of the assault, suffocation and electrocution of Bongani Ntanzi. When questioned by state prosecutor George Baloyi, Jonathan denied the allegations.
