28 suspected illegal miners are expected to appear before the Orkney Magistrates' Court next week Monday, facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, attempted murder and for contravention of the Immigration Act. According to Colonel Adele Myburgh, some of the illegal miners, whilst trying to flee, fired shots towards the police and when the police returned fire - one suspect was wounded and later died whilst being treated in a nearby hospital.
