What are possible solutions to current electricity crisis in South Africa? It is well documented that our electricity woes started in 2007 when our country experienced national blackouts of electricity supply, due to insufficient generation capacity. But, what’s even more worrying is the fact that 16 years later - we’re still tussling with the same issue with no concrete solutions. However, our new minister of electricity Dr Kgosientso Ramokgopa is quite optimistic that South Africa will gradually end load-shedding for good. The Minister recently conducted a diagnostic visit to 18 power stations, all in an attempt to find solutions to South Africa’s energy crisis.
