Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has appealed for more assistance from international partners and donors in the face of destruction and damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Freddy. While on the other hand, UK based lawyer and journalist Peter Makossah has questioned the effectiveness of the African Union and SADC structures in assisting those affected by tropical storm Freddy, asking – “where is the African Union, where is SADC and above all else where are African countries and why can’t they join forces and provide the necessary help?”
