The Golden Arrow Bus Service has suspended its operating service in Nyanga after two of its buses were torched during protest action that occurred earlier today and unfortunately they are not the only ones who have been affected by this as Eskom has also suspended its service following the attacks on its vehicles. According to the City of Cape Town’s Mayco Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, the City condemns these attacks and they are appealing to members of the public with any information concerning these attacks to please call the City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre.

 In South Africa’s latest major data breach, Credit bureau TransUnion has confirmed that it has been hacked and according to them – a hacker group is demanding a whopping R223 million ransom over four terabytes of compromised data. The hacker group going by the name N4aughtysecTU, which claims to hail from Brazil, is alleging that it breached TransUnion and accessed 54 million personal records of South Africans.

Ntuli says she is taking a break from formal politics to focus on her community work. Also what is important to note is that she is joining an exodus of prominent black DA leaders such as Mmusi Maimane, John Moodey, Herman Mashaba, Phumzile van Damme and former Midvaal mayor Bongani Baloyi who have left the party in recent times.

Prince Mbonisi Zulu - brother of the late AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini - has now announced that he does not accept the decision by President Cyril Ramaphosa to recognise King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as the new monarch. This message has been conveyed by Prince Mbonisi's attorney - Peter Zwane. Earlier today Zwane said his client welcomed the announcement by the President, but that they would consult on any further steps. Prince Mbonisi brought an application for an interdict to stop a supposed coronation of then King-elect Misuzulu kaZwelithini in December last year. The Pietermaritzburg High Court dismissed the application, which the court said was based on rumour. The Democratic Alliance has announced that it intends tabling the Preferential Sourcing Policy Framework Amendment Act, or “Social Impact Bill”, as a draft bill. The bill proposes to repeal the current Broad Scale Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Act and make several key changes to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA). Party’s spokesperson on trade, industry and competition, Dean Macpherson says for many years now, the wealthy and politically connected have abused BBBEE to enrich themselves.

 As early as 2020, Italy’s foreign minister Luigi Di Maio said that his country would start sending irregular Tunisian migrants back to their home as of August 10, 2020 and noted that 80 people will be expatriated every week. But surprisingly, the country is still battling to deal with this issue till today, this as over 2 000 minors are reported to have reached Italy from Tunisia last year, up from 561 four years earlier.
