Former Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) President Nerius Moloto continues to deny allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him. This after he was found guilty of sexual harassment by the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in December last year. Moloto was accused of sexual harassment in his capacity as the general secretary of the Building, Construction and Allied Workers Union. Moloto's victim, whose pseudonym is "Lehakoe", for security purposes says she was sexually harassed by Moloto and was later fired by the union for reportedly bringing it into disrepute. Moloto says this is a mere smear campaign against him.

Last week Monday, we spoke to the Commission for Gender Equality after they issued a statement - warning companies against introducing mandatory vaccination policies. The commission used the study into the disruption of menstrual cycles experienced by a few women after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine as an argument for why businesses should not be implementing mandatory vaccines in the workplace. However, the South African Society of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (Sasog) has responded to the commission’s statement – calling it flawed and irresponsible, and they are accusing the commission of having ignored the proven benefits of vaccination of women of reproductive age.

World News: To prove that he meant business when he promised Malawians that he was going to root out the culture of corruption and selective justice. Yesterday, Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera dissolved his cabinet amid allegations of corruption, nepotism and economic mismanagement against his party. Chakwera also said that he does not support the offer of amnesty to those who defrauded the government and the Malawian people. Some of you may recall that Malawi's new government under his leadership committed to ending corruption in both government and private sector in the quest to enhance the development of the country.

Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta has banned the sale of scrap metal in the country. The immediate ban comes amid an effort to end what the government says are "rising cases of vandalism of key public installations or infrastructure. Meanwhile here in South Africa, the country's rail sector is almost obsolete due to vandalism and theft, this despite the country having the best rail infrastructure on the continent. So would a similar ban on the sale of scrap metals curb the negative impact of ongoing damage to public rail infrastructure in the country? And if this ban was introduced, how would it impact people operating in the scrap metal sector?

Two Kimberley families, whose deceased loved ones' graves were desecrated - when strangers were buried in the same tombs as the families' late relatives - are relieved after the Public Protector's office directed the Sol Plaatje Municipality to obtain exhumation orders and right its wrongs. In January 2020, Mr Izak Louw complained that the municipality removed the tombstone on the grave of his late brother, Mr Richard Louw, at the West End cemetery and buried Ms Keitumetse Koloane atop his late brother without the permission of his family.
