82 workers who were reportedly unfairly dismissed in 2013 by Busmark will be reinstated. In August 2013 members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) participated in a National Motor strike which Busmark says was unprotected. Busmark, a company which manufactures, maintains and services buses, then took disciplinary action against the striking workers by dismissing them. The matter was eventually solved through private arbitration.

Some African National Congress (ANC) branches in eThekwini have thrown their weight behind Ace Magashule, demanding that he be reinstated immediately. Ntando Khuzwayo who speaks on behalf of ANC branches in Durban believes the step-aside rule isn't being implemented correctly and he feels that some members are being targeted and says if they don't receive a positive response from the NEC, they'll push for an early conference.

Metrobus drivers are currently embarking on a strike after salary negotiations deadlocked last week. The union Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (Demawusa) members are continuing their labour protest. They have been staging a picket at Gandhi Square in Johannesburg.

The DA have laid charges of crimen injuria and racism against ANC MP, Faiez Jacobs. DA Ward Councillor, at the City of Cape Town, Angus McKenzie laid the charges at Bonteheuwel Police Station, accusing Faiez Jacobs of calling him a house-N-word on a public WhatsApp group. Speaking to us last week Friday on Beyond the Headline, Faiez Jacobs used the same N-word and stated that it was a historical term for a house slave of African descent, who looked after the interests of his masters than that of his own people.
