Suspended presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko has told the Gauteng ANC Provincial Executive Committee that she will only step aside after the Special Investigating Unit concludes it investigation into alleged corruption related to the supply of Personal Protective Equipment. Her lawyers say she is disappointed by ANC provincial secretary Jacob Khawe's statement that she should step aside after the Provincial Disciplinary Committee found her guilty. The committee found Diko guilty of failing to disclose her husband's business interests to the ANC PEC or any of its office bearers. She now says there is no ANC rule or policy that bars spouses of ANC members from doing business with government entities.

Academic activities at the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape have been suspended once again due to ongoing student protests. Why does the gender pay gap continue unabated in South Africa? Stats SA's 2019 Inequality Trends report found that women earned on average 30% less than men in the same jobs. The report also revealled that males are more likely to be employed and have relatively better-paying jobs compared to females.
