As we move through life, and through the world, it's inevitable that we will leave a physical mark. Every living thing does. Birds leave the nests they build, bees leave hives, deer leave hoofprints and branches pushed to the side to clear the path. There are tunnels in South America that were carved out by long extinct giant ground sloths.
Today we are leaving bigger footprints than ever, but not with things like art or architecture. We're leaving behind plastic wrappers, cheap clothing made of polyester, plastic straws, things that we don't need, that don't actually make our lives better, and things that will never actually go away, they'll just break down into smaller pieces of plastic and get into the soil, the water, our food, our bodies.
The footprints we are leaving are devastating. And we need to find a way to shrink them. For a whole host of reasons, not least of which is the massive damage we're doing to the environment with our overconsumption.
In today's episode, Charlotte shares tips and tricks for breaking the overconsumption cycle and minimizing your footprint on the world, so you can move through life with more ease and space for the important things.
