Rival executives expect Hornets restricted free agent Miles Bridges to command a maximum — or near-max — deal in July, and sources said there’s hesitancy from Charlotte to match a max sheet. Bridges had a breakout season in 2021-22, averaging 20.2 points, seven rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.  Bridges’ two-way ability on the wing has become incredibly valued toward winning. Atlanta Hawks free-agent guard Lou Williams intends to continue his playing career, his agent Wallace Prather says. Williams, a 17-year veteran, averaged 6.3 points and 14.3 minutes a game over 56 contests this past season. The Cleveland Cavaliers restricted free agent Collin Sexton has been cleared for full basketball activities, sources said. The Pacers are seriously discussing trades centered on Malcolm Brogdon and Myles Turner, sources said. The Timberwolves have discussed deals around veteran centers, including Atlanta’s Clint Capela, sources said.~Sources said the Jazz are scheduling second interview times with 15 candidates.

Today's show discusses the Boston Celtics beating the Golden State Warriors at their own game in a 120-108 win in Game 1, stealing an NBA Finals game at Chase Center on Thursday. Steph Curry scored 21 points in the first quarter, the most he has ever scored in a single quarter in Finals history, and made 6 of 8 3-pointers, a Finals record for made triples in one quarter. Curry finished with a game-high 34 points. Jaylen Brown scored 24 points with seven rebounds and five assists for the Celtics. Derrick White, off the bench, scored 21 points with five 3-pointers. Boston’s Jayson Tatum struggled shooting-wise, going just 3 of 17 for 12 points but still made an impact with 13 assists. Al Horford, led the way for the Celtics with 26 points, including six 3-pointers. Andrew Wiggins added 20 points for the Warriors.
